Two CDs and a Blu-ray Audio disc, housed in an 11 x 11 hardbound book. That's the shape of this 40th anniversary set, and what's inside runs well past the original album.
Along with the studio record you get ten previously unreleased live recordings, plus hi-res and 5.1 mixes. The book holds rare and unseen photos from the era, a replica tour book, and three stand-alone posters.
Those ten live tracks were taped during the band's three-night stand at the Los Angeles Forum in October 1976, about a month before the album came out. Early airings of “Hotel California” and “New Kid In Town” are in there, alongside “Already Gone,” “Take It To The Limit,” and “Witchy Woman.”
The Blu-ray Audio disc inside HOTEL CALIFORNIA: DELUXE EDITION carries the 5.1 Surround Sound mix that first appeared on DVD-A in 2001, plus a hi-resolution 192 KHz/24-Bit stereo mix.
