The CD release of Kanii's exiit EP carries all eight tracks, moving between club-ready energy and high-register pop hooks. Opener "Five." sets the tone: keys pulse under head-nodding claps while the vocal floats up in a high cadence.
On "Invasion," uptempo electronic production sits beneath the singing as the lyrics work through emotions close to heartbreak. "Plastic Heart" is a pop song built around a soaring chorus and the emphatic line "you're heart is fake." Then there's "Clumsy Dancer," which opens with a scene: "I met her in Brooklyn. I didn't know her name," before the hook about a girl who just wants to party and stay out all night long.
Played start to finish, exiit runs like a night out with Kanii, club memories and all. Fan favourite "Heart Racing" ft. Riovaz and Nimstarr is the dancefloor cut, and it entered the Billboard Hot Dance/Electronic Songs Chart at #13.
