How The West Was Won gets a new edition, with audio newly remastered under the supervision of Jimmy Page. The original album came out in 2003, and this set returns to the same source material with fresh mastering.
The recordings pull the strongest moments from Led Zeppelin's Los Angeles Forum and Long Beach Arena shows on June 25 and 27, 1972. Sequenced to play as one continuous concert from start to finish, the set catches the band at the peak of its powers. A 25-plus minute "Dazed And Confused" and a 21-minute medley built around "Whole Lotta Love" are among the standouts. You also hear songs from Houses Of The Holy, which wouldn't be released for another nine months.
