A 7" black vinyl single in plain packaging, with the lyrics etched onto side B. Shockwave came out on June 7 as the first taster of Liam Gallagher's second album, Why Me? Why Not.
A beast of a riff kicks the door in first, nodding toward The Who and T. Rex, then Gallagher lands on the hook with his usual venom:
You sold me right down the river, you had to hold me back. You could've looked for the sunshine, but you had to paint the whole thing black.
He wrote it with Andrew Wyatt, co-writer of Shallow from A Star Is Born, and with Greg Kurstin, who also produced the track. Sessions ran in Los Angeles and at RAK Studios in London.
Plain sleeve, etched flip side, chorus that sticks for a week. Play side A loud, then turn it over and read the words.
