Back in 2002, Regina Spektor was writing faster than she could keep track of. Songs were piling up, and some were slipping her mind entirely. Her friend Joe Mendelson spotted the problem and offered to archive everything she'd written that year. Dozens of songs went down in single takes; twelve of them became this album.
You'll hear the original versions of “Samson” and “Ne Me Quitte Pas” here, both later re-recorded on Begin to Hope and What We Saw From The Cheap Seats. Bob Ludwig remastered these early recordings for their 22nd birthday.
For the first time, the album plays outside of a handmade CD-R. It arrives on vinyl, with the first pressing in black and a limited edition blue and white swirl sold only at reginaspektor.com.
