Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me is the seventh studio album from British alternative rock band The Cure. It came out in 1987 and turned out to be the record that pushed them into the American mainstream, becoming their first album to crack the Billboard Top 40 and earning Platinum certification along the way.
The reach wasn't limited to the States. It landed in the Top 10 in in a number of countries, which says plenty about how far the band's audience had grown by that point.
Compared with what came before, this one is both more accessible and more ambitious. Robert Smith widened his pop vocabulary here, tentatively adding bigger guitars, the occasional horn section, lite-funk rhythms, and string sections.
The 2013 Record Store Day release comes back as a 180 gram black vinyl pressing.
